What is the significance of AFT's, Inc. breakthrough regarding a less formaldehyde
formulation?
Our
discovery during our ongoing research and development process has lowered the
trapped formaldehyde gasses in our floral bricks by 50%. That is 50% lower than
any other floral foam on the market today. We have always been concerned about
the work-place environment and are continuing our research. Our goal is to lower
the formaldehyde level even more and make our product and the environment a safer
place to work.
Q.
What is the pH of floral foam?
Tests conducted on one leading brand of foam resulted in a pH reading of
3.0! This is much too acidic for any flower and could also cause an
oxidizing reaction should you use any metal containers. Foams produced by
AFT are manufactured with
a balanced pH between 5.0 to 6.5.
Q.
Why do some foams turn reddish-brown?
All
foams turn color due to aging, increased heat, or exposure to ultra-violet light.
AFT's Ultra Wet brand has been designed and formulated to retain their
green color more distinctly and longer than other brands.
